CubeYis an innovative furniture system for homes deriving its name from its unique joinery.
With “CubeY” you can create a contemporary retreat for your home or work place. Each furniture piece created with the module options in “CubeY” is inviting in itself and is something you can proudly own.
The design requirement was to develop a system that focuses primarily on customizing and compact storage which can be easily modified by users, and has a standardization in terms of construction and joinery.
Many iterations and prototypes gave way to a modular system which can be rearranged in different forms, connected by a joinery made of specially designed and fabricated metal components, becoming the highlight and a unique identity of the furniture system.
With the various modules & options available with CubeY the spaces can be played with, the modules can be dismantled so it becomes even more convenient to recreate the furniture pieces as per the space available.
With the restriction of space in apartments “CubeY” offers all kind of solutions and can help create spaces the way they have been envisioned, it is versatile, crisp, contemporary and has a unique industrial, yet a playful appeal.
CubeY was developed in collaboration with Shark Design Studio (sponsors) as a partial fulfillment to my Post Graduate Diploma in Design at National Institute of Design. The system is in production and is available for sale at Bleu Concepts, New Delhi.
The design and the furniture system has evolved after exhaustive efforts of the manufacturing division at Shark and myself. The scope of work involved market research, consumer research, and analysis, design strategy, concept development as well as detail design followed by prototyping, production drawings, and supervision.
